Clover Lane // OFFICIAL

This projects' clients fell in love with Midway Hollow and the property on Clover Lane, but not the dreary existing house. OFFICIAL’s first priority was to brighten the interior while also adding a garage, pool and pool house. The one-story gabled addition along the back respects the neighborhood’s character and scale. The interior is a surprising, naturally lit contemporary space warmed by a wood slat wall. The renovation shifted the kitchen to open onto the back yard and created a vaulted living space with clerestory windows. A long deck with a steel arbor focuses on the pool and pool house. A quiet retreat with a built-in desk, bed, and full bathroom, the pool house interior opens out towards the pool. A louvered sunshade casts ever changing shadows across the porch and into the space. The archetypal form is clad in cedar shingles that will weather to complement the grey brick of the main house.
